Privacy Policy
Plateau is built privacy‑first. The short version: your trading strategy data never leaves your browser. This policy explains exactly what we do and don't collect when you use plateauquant.com and the Plateau application ("Plateau", "we", "us").
1. What we don't collect
Plateau's analysis runs entirely on your device. When you load a backtest, optimization report, trade list or any other file, it is parsed and analysed locally in your browser. We do not upload, transmit, receive, store, or have any access to:
- your strategy reports, trades, returns, parameters or any file you open;
- the results, scores, charts or metrics Plateau computes from them;
- any projects or settings you create — these are saved locally on your device (in your browser's storage), not on our servers.
2. What we do collect
Access & account information
Plateau is gated by Cloudflare Access during our private beta. To sign in, you provide an email address, which is verified with a one‑time code. We use this only to grant and manage access. If you email us to request beta access, we receive the information you choose to send.
Technical & security data
Our site and app are delivered through Cloudflare. As is standard for any website, Cloudflare processes limited technical data needed to deliver and secure the service — such as your IP address, browser/device type, and request timestamps — and may retain short‑lived logs for security and abuse prevention. Cloudflare acts as our service provider (processor) for this.
Communications
If you contact us by email, we keep that correspondence to respond and provide support.
3. How we use information
- To provide, secure and operate the Plateau application and website;
- To authenticate you and manage beta access;
- To respond to your requests and provide support;
- To detect, prevent and address security issues, abuse or technical problems;
- To improve Plateau (using aggregate, non‑identifying information).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for advertising.
4. Cookies & local storage
We use only the cookies necessary to deliver and secure the service and to keep you signed in (set by Cloudflare). We do not use advertising or third‑party tracking cookies. The application also stores your projects and preferences in your browser's local storage — on your device, under your control. For details, see our Cookie Policy.
5. How we share information
We share personal information only:
- With service providers who help us run Plateau (for example, Cloudflare for hosting, delivery, access control and security), under appropriate confidentiality obligations;
- For legal reasons, if required by law or to protect rights, safety and the integrity of the service;
- In a business transfer, if Plateau is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets (you will be notified of any change).
6. Data retention
Because your strategy data stays on your device, there is nothing for us to retain. Access emails are kept for as long as you have access (and a reasonable period after, for records and security). Technical logs are retained only for short periods consistent with security needs. Email correspondence is kept as needed to support you.
7. Security
Plateau is served over encrypted HTTPS and gated behind Cloudflare Access. Because analysis is client‑side, the most sensitive information — your strategies — never travels to us at all. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but keeping your data local is the strongest protection we can offer.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the limited personal information we hold (your access email and any correspondence), and to object to certain processing. To exercise these, email us at info@plateauquant.com. You can clear data the app stored locally at any time by clearing your browser's site data for plateauquant.com.
9. International transfers
Cloudflare operates a global network, so technical data may be processed in countries other than your own. Appropriate safeguards are applied by our providers for such processing.
10. Children
Plateau is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you.
